| HOW TO ADD RAIN-EFFECT INTO YOUR PICTURES
Hi everybody!
I was thinking how to add a rain-effect into some of my pictures and I found out one really great way and I think there's no one better than that one, really!
I found a bit more tutorials about this, but you need also big experience with drawing on computer with some program like Corel PhotoPaint X3 (personally, I'm using this one, but I'm sure every good program have those effect too. Also, "X3" is the name of program, not smiley ^_^')
So, first, of course, you need to open picture that you want to add effect.
But really sorry for opening this topic for nothing, cause now I hve no time to write that ^_^' But later, I will _________________

| So, here is the whole tutorial:
HOW TO ADD RAIN-EFFECT INTO YOUR PICTURES
Hi everybody!
I was thinking how to add a rain-effect into some of my pictures and I found out one really great way and I think there's no one better than that one, really!
I found a bit more tutorials about this, but you need also big experience with drawing on computer with some program like Corel PhotoPaint X3 (personally, I'm using this one, but I'm sure every good program have those effect too. Also, "X3" is the name of program, not smiley ^_^')
So, first, of course, you need to open picture that you want to add effect.
Than open new picture that will be half-size of the picture that you'll add the effect on. Color it in total black color. Than add a noise, depends on it how much rain do you want. Than just resize the picture so it will be the same dimensions as the picture that you are adding the effect on. And no, it's not the same when you are doing like this and when you are first making it be as the same dimensions as the one that you want to add the effect, and than resizing. I just have to mention it.
Than easily blur it. Be sure that rain is not too big or too small and be sure that the rain goes to same direction as the wind (if the direction of the wind cannot be seen, than add the rain in your opinion, but not too straight or not more than 45 degrees - except it is the storm).
Than copy the whole image and put it onto a picture that you are remaking. Than make the image with blurred noise be 75% transparent and you'll make it.
If you are using that picture for a comic maybe, than you can leave it like that, but if you want it to be the professional-work, than you need a final touch. When the rain drop falls down, it's not fading. It's still there, just not in the same shape. So than you need to add a few "V"s on the ground (if it can be seen) that it looks like the rain-drop fell down.
If you are adding the effect on the sea, you need a lot of work than. Easily, with hand-tool draw a lot of "O"s in the water. But you must know a lot of information about it to add it, so it looks like professional picture.
So that's it, now you will have the greatest rain-effect! Don' t use it for very big pictures - I recommend not more than 1024 x 768.
This is my tutorial, I didn't copy it and the idea is MINE. If you want to copy it in some site, add the URL of the site, and the URL of this post.

| HI,
@ Jose: That's true^^. The artist made this pic just for me. The the girl in Donnys arms is actually me
Back to topic: I think, I've got it now! I've worked on that for at least 2 hours... But it takes a lot more steps in Adobe, I had to work with some adjustment layers, the Gauschian blur and the level correctur
Now, my two versions. Hard, but straight rain:

And this one with very less rain and a soft swirling-effect

I think, both are much more convincing now. Am I right?

| I can use THIS one, too. DEFINITELY better than trying to draw all that rain in by hand. (AND easier on my poor hand!) _________________

| Er, I can try. But most of my attempts at the rain this are total wash-outs! (And please, pardon the VERY bad pun there.) Anyway, I'll have to FIND some of 'em first. I had them packed away in a box (which was SPECIFICALLY marked to go to MY room!) the last time that we moved, and I can't find the damged BOX now! I'm thinking it got sent to storage by accident (curtesy of my idiot ex-brother-in-law, who couldn't do anything right if his darned LIFE depended on it! How many times do you have to TELL a person, "NO, Cecil. It goes to the HOUSE, NOT to storage!" Yeeesh, some men!), but I'll have to go through what boxes of my art stuff that I have at home before I can be sure. So just be patient with me, and I'll do my best to come up with an example of MY rain-drawing work. NOT that it's as spectacular as the ones posted ABOVE, mind you............ _________________
